Technology integration plan
My Vision of a Student-Centered Ecosystem in Higher Education
The following higher education technology integration plan reflects my philosophy of educational leadership and approach to the teaching and learning process in higher education. It also illustrates my comprehensive understanding of the basic components of a student-centered higher education ecosystem. The plan is organized as follows:
- Mindmap. An illustration of my schema for e-learning in higher education
- Word Cloud. An articulation of what I believe are the ten most important considerations in the instructional design process in higher education
- Padlet Word Wall. Insight into my theory of online teaching and learning in higher education
- Pinterest Board. Online resources and information that form a foundation for my technology integration plan
- Video Presentation. The technology integration plan designed to enhance the teaching and learning process in higher education
- Resources. A compilation of sources used in the formation of my technology integration plan.
Mindmap
The mind map illustrates my schema for e-learning in higher education. The first tier, represented by colored boxes, represents the goals of e-learning, the advantages and potential pitfalls, engagement strategies, how to foster social presence and connectedness, instructional design, communication in the online setting, and professional development considerations. The second, third, and fourth tiers feature more detailed aspects of the corresponding first tier topic.

Word Cloud
The word cloud articulates what I believe to be the ten most important considerations in the instructional design process in higher education. Each of the considerations is applicable regardless of modality: in-person, hybrid, or online (synchronous or asynchronous).
Padlet Word Wall
The Padlet word wall provides insight into my theory of online teaching and learning in higher education. The wall features quotes, videos, articles, and websites to advise, inform, and inspire instructors seeking to create a learner-centered experience.
Pinterest Board
This Pinterest board features online resources and information that form a foundation for my technology integration plan. The resources focus on a student-centered ecosystem in higher education and include information about engaging students, authentic, problem-based learning, and models appropriate for in-person and online learning.
Video Presentation
Part 1 of the video presentation outlining my technology integration plan discusses a model for integrating technology into new or existing courses, using technology to help students reach the highest levels of Bloom's taxonomy, and how Significant Learning plays a role in the use of technology within instructional design.
Part 2 of the video presentation focuses on memory and cognition, drawing attention to the ways that technology should and should not be used in instructional design.
